Kinsmen of former Governor of Plateau State, Chief Solomon Daushep Lar, who died on Wednesday in the United States, have described the demise of the elder statesman as “an irreparable loss to the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Plateau State and the Tarok Nation”.
This is even as the All Progressive Congress (APC) delegation has described Lar as a man of no mean political value to the nation.
Lar’s kinsmen, under the auspices of Tarok Elders’ Forum (TEF), were led by Reverend Selcan Miner on a condolence visit to the bereaved family, where they prayed fervently to God for a successor; “a vacuum has been created and we pray that the Lord will raise a successor for us.”
According to the elders, “Lar was a brother, father, friend, leader and colleague, who stood on the side of the truth, even at great cost and pains to himself and his immediate family.
“His wise counsel, in-depth knowledge of the political history and intrigues, wisdom in approaching national issues and his dogged resolve in the unity of this nation will be sorely missed.”
